Access is a priority for us. At the same time, we need to acknowledge that already the digital framework of this conference is involving barriers for some people und that we won’t be able to meet all needs equally. We are open for critique and grateful for every person who wants to be in conversation with us.
Zoom (Video Conference Tool)
All events will take place via the video conference platform Zoom, as this tool offers the best possible accessibility for a diverse audience.
To be able to access all functions available, we ask you to download the most up-to-date version of Zoom before attending the event. We would like to inform you that the access to certain functions might be limited when using smartphones or tablets.
Our Zoom manual will support you in the operation of Zoom. The manual will also be send out to all registered participants on the day before the event via e-mail.
Accessibility of the events
(Almost) every event takes place in English spoken language with English subtitles and German spoken language and German sign language interpretation (DGS).
An integrated audiodescription of all visual content will be provided collectively by all artists and participants involved (if needed, with the assistance of the curators).
You can contribute to the conversation in spoken, written or sign language.
Additionally, the artist talk “Disability and Colonialism” (2nd September, 7 pm CET) will take place in Portuguese spoken language.
The artist talk “Sign Language in Different Art Forms” (3rd September, 7 pm CET) will be translated to International Sign.
The workshop for deaf artists (3rd of September, 11 am CET) will take place in German Sign Language (DGS) and International Sign exclusively.
The movement session for disabled artists (5th of September, 11 am CET) will take place in German spoken language and English spoken language exclusively.
All events are curated with a relaxed approach. Tics and movements as well as children, pets and stimming toys are explicitly welcome.
